Titles to Inspire and Encourage the Entire Military Family
10 Feb 2008

As the editor of a publishing company, I'm a reader. When faced with life's biggest dilemmas, I turn first to God and then to books. I own multiple books addressing marriage, parenting, finances, leadership, Christianity, writing, and of course, the military.

If you or a family member is part of the armed services, you, too, may be seeking printed information to inspire you, encourage you and help you through the challenges the military offers. These are books that I have found to be especially helpful during my time as an Army wife, and especially during deployment.

For the Soldier Serving at War:

The War Within (Various, Good Catch Publishing)

For the Spouse on the Home Front:

Behind the Blue-Star Banner: A Memoir from the Home Front (Michelle Cuthrell, Good Catch Publishing)

Heroes at Home (Ellie Kay, Bethany House Publishers)

Chicken Soup for the Military Wife’s Soul (Various, Health Communications, Inc.)

The Power of a Praying Wife (Stormie Omartian, Harvest House Publishers)

Praying for Those We Love as They Serve Our Country (Editor Janice Jacobson, Zondervan Corporation)

For the Military Couple Seeking to Strengthen Their Marriage Before, During and After Deployment

The Five Love Languages (Gary Chapman, Northfield Publishing)

Love and Respect (Emerson Eggerichs, Integrity Publishers)

Sacred Marriage (Gary Thomas, Zondervan)
